Genoa had 3 coaches this season, we started with Gigi de Canio who saved Genoa last year in the last 5 matches (Preziosi had to keep De Canio after this succes, while the rumors immediately said he didn’t want to). After the crazy 8th match of the season against Roma (2-0 advantage ended in a 2-4 defeat) De Canio was changed by Luigi Delneri who was coach of Genoa during 13 matches. The 0-2 homedefeat against Catania on 20th January was the end of Delneri who was substituted by our present coach Davide Ballardini (Balla). Here are the standings of the 3 coaches:

Gigi de Canio (8 matches, last one 21st October 2012: Genoa-Roma 2-4)

1) Juventus 22 points

11) Genoa 9  (2 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats)

14) Siena 8 (but started with -6, so 2 points in the standings)

19) Pescara 7

20) Palermo 6

*

Luigi Delneri (13 matches, last one 20th January 2013: Genoa-Catania 0-2)

1) Milan 27 points

15) Pescara 13

16) Siena 12

19) Palermo 10

20) Genoa 8 (2 wins, 2 draws and 9 defeats)

*

Davide Ballardini (15 matches, Balla still is our coach)

1) Juventus 38 points

9) Genoa 19 (4 wins, 7 draws and 4 defeats)

Outside the period of  Luigi Delneri Genoa is a team in the middle of Serie A.
